Persimmon (Kaki)
Brazilian persimmons are produced in strict accordance with the quality standards demanded by international markets. They are uniform in colour, firm and very sweet at 14º Bx, which can get as high as 18% sugar.
In Brazil, this crop is of excellent quality, size and with a good appearance. Brazil’s production of 168,200 tons makes it the fourth largest producer in the world, with its orchards being mainly concentrated in the South and Southeast of the country.
The main export variety is Fuyu, which is of the non-tannic type. It is mainly air-freighted to Europe, where it arrives in 24 hours, on average.
