Apple is regarded to emerge from North Anatolia, South Caucasus, regions located in the southwest of Russia and around Central Asia. It spread from Central Asia to the whole world. It is one of the most preferred fruit in Turkey and it has approximately 6500 types. The most consumed types are Starking, Golden, Starkrimson, Granny Smith and Amasya. In addition, for the last few years Pink Lady, Fuji, Gala, Jonagold and Breaburn types have also been preferred by consumers.

How to Pick:
The surface should be smooth and shiny. It is important to find that sweet smell particular to apples. Stay away from shriveled, rotten apples with bruises on them.

Nutritional Values:
A raw apple weighing 100g contains 52 calories, consisting of vitamins A and C, potassium and minerals. Apples are one of the most important nutritional sources for diets.

Anadolu Etap, which was established in cooperation with Anadolu Group, Özgörkey Holding and Brazil-based Cutrale Group, is carrying on its activities with the strategy of being one of Europe’s leading fruit juice producing and fresh fruit growing companies.

The plantation investments have started in 2010 in order to meet the demand of high-quality raw material for their own plants and also the demand in fresh fruit industry. The first sapling was planted in April 23th, 2011. As of August 2015, Anadolu Etap has reached 3.5 million planted fruit trees in six different regions on 7 different farms that are built on a 2.500 ha of land.

At Tahirova Farm, which is the biggest single piece fruit farm in Turkey, peach, nectarine, plum, cherry, pear and apple are being cultivated. With 600 ha of land, Kumkale Farm is the biggest stone fruit farm and peach, nectarine and apricot are being cultivated there. At Karapınar Farm, where 15 different types of apple are being grown, sour cherry is also being grown. 3 different farms in Adana and Urfa are where different classes of fruit types’ adaptation to regional soils and climates are being tested and study about plantation systems are being carried out and also peach, nectarine, apricot, pomegranate, almond and sour cherry are being grown.

The biggest fruit company of Turkey, Anadolu Etap is the first company to publish the Sustainable Agriculture Principles in August, 2014.

Since its establishment until now, the plants in Mersin and Denizli have reached the maximum fruit processing capacity in Turkey, exceeding 200.000 tons of fruit in 2017. Anadolu Etap provides continuous service to its customers ranging from America to Japan.

Anadolu Etap will harvest the biggest amount of stone fruit in Turkey and it is rapidly extending its fresh fruit sales and marketing activities.
