Lithuanian Vegetable Producers Association unites 106 growers cultivating potatoes on a total of 2 050 ha, vegetables – 2 200 ha, split between beetroot, carrots, brassicas, onion and other vegetables, and greenhouse vegetables – 40 ha. The members produce up to 80,000t of potatoes, 77,000t of field vegetables and 20,000t of greenhouse vegetables, including herbs, for national and international markets. Farms producing potatoes and vegetables according to the national "Environmentally friendly fruit and vegetable cultivation scheme" apply stricter than conventional reguirements for fertilization and plant protection. The certificate grants the right to apply the logo "Quality". A number of farms are also certified to system GLOBALG.A.P. or organic produduction by certifying agency "Ekoagros". Some farms are supplying the market with fresh convenience products.
