China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce & Animal By-Products (CFNA) was set up in 1988. It is a self-discipline trade organization formed by enterprises which are entitled to the right of import and export and related business activities of agricultural, forest, aquatic products, foodstuffs, native produce and animal by-produce according to the Foreign Trade Law.

The motif of the chamber is, within the framework of the Constitution, national laws and regulations and government policies as well as social ethics, to coordinate the import and export conducted by the member enterprises; to provide consulting and service; to keep the foreign trade order and protect equal competition; to safeguard the national interests and legal rights and benefits of the member enterprises and promote a healthy growth of foreign trade of industry concerned.

The main duties of CFNA are, to maintain foreign trade order and protect the legitimate right and interest of membership; to explore international market; to provide information and consulting and training service; to mediate trade disputes among members; to reflect demand of member to the government and offer advice to government policy-making; to supervise members to abide by the laws and regulations in business operations; to organize export quota bidding; to organize domestic and international trade fairs and exhibitions; to conduct international exchange and communications; to assist members to respond to anti-dumping suits and to investigate import dumping and other unfair foreign competition; to make suggestions to the law enforcement agencies or to take punish actions against members will violate the laws or regulations; to perform the function entrusted by the government or requested by the members.

CFNA has over 3400 member enterprises scattered allover mainland China. The members include foreign trade enterprises, manufactures, joint ventures and private enterprises, among which 27 are administrative councils and 135 are councils. CFNA membership covers most of the largest and most representative enterprises in the industry. The business managed by the members covers grains, oils, oilseeds and fats, vegetables and fresh fruits, livestock poultry and meat, aquatic products, beverage and canned goods, forest chemicals products, spices and essential oils, natural, native produce, feather and down, cashmere and rabbit hair, bristle, casing, furred leather and its produce, carpet and the like. CFNA represents the overall level and strength of the whole industry of agriculture, forestry, aquatic, food, native produce and animal by-products.
